Emoticons

Luckily, there is nothing difficult about emoticons; they are easy to understand.

Basically, emoticons are ways that you can show emotion or expression when you are communicating with people online.  In person this is easy to do, but the online world makes this a bit more difficult.  You can use emoticons to show that you are happy, sad, flirty, and many other expressions.  All you need to do is learn how to make these emoticons, and you will be well on your way to better communication via the computer.

One of the most popular emoticons is :-), which as you can see looks like a smiley face tipped to the side.  It is safe to say that everyday, millions of people use this emoticon when they are communicating with others via email, instant messenger, etc.  On the other side of things a :-( is means to show a frown, or discontent.

Using emoticons is much better than having to try and explain what you are feeling.  This also allow you to show how you are feeling instead of trying to search for a way to type it out.  Although the internet has opened up a whole new way to communicate, along with it are some inherent problems such as showing emotion.

Overall, using emoticons is a great way to show the person you are communicating with how you feel.  They are easy to use, and can be typed out using your keyboard.  Look into using these emoticons so that you can communicate more effectively.
